Dream Time Wedding Car Hire

I have spent most of my working life in caring professions, so looking after people has always come naturally to me. Providing a calm, reliable and personal service is at the heart of everything I do. Alongside this, I am also a highly experienced driver, with hundreds of thousands of miles travelled in a wide variety of vehicles. I hold an LGV (HGV) Class 1 (CE) licence and have driven everything from 44-tonne milk tankers to curtain-sided articulated lorries.

My pride and joy is a 1956 Citroën Traction Avant Commerciale. Originally introduced in 1934, the Traction Avant was revolutionary for its time — the world’s first mass-produced front-wheel-drive car with a unitary body construction, meaning it had no separate chassis. Even today, these cars are renowned for their exceptional comfort and smooth ride. Thanks to the front-wheel-drive design, there is also no central transmission tunnel, creating generous rear passenger space and comfort. The car has had many “up grades” to help ensure reliability e.g. electronic ignition, up rated carburettor, 12 volt electrics conversion inc new battery and alternator, new tyres all round, and an engine and gear box re-build and regular servicing. I also get a yearly “MOT” although as a “Historic Vehicle” it is classed as MOT exempt.

Production of the Traction Avant ended in 1957 when the iconic Citroën DS replaced it, making this car one of the very last examples built in Paris. As the “Commerciale” model, it was also one of the world’s earliest hatchbacks — a remarkable piece of automotive history that still turns heads wherever it goes.

The name “Dreamtime” comes from the Aboriginal peoples of Australia and refers to a spiritual journey or rite of passage. That meaning felt especially fitting for the important moments and milestones people choose to celebrate with this service — weddings, graduations, birthdays, farewells, and other memorable occasions.

“Dreamtime” is also the title of a 1986 album by my favourite band, The Stranglers, featuring the hit single Always the Sun as well as the track Dreamtime. It was through this album that I first became aware of the Aboriginal meaning behind the name. The colours and styling used in my logo are inspired by the album artwork as a personal tribute.
